AED
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time.
Our CPR and AED courses deliver simple-to-use techniques and information that can help you save a life. With AED training, you can learn when – and how – to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) on both children and adults. This way, you can provide care – no matter where you are or who the “patient” may be.
According to the American Red Cross, during sudden cardiac arrest, each minute that defibrillation is delayed reduces someone’s chances of survival by approximately 10%. While our area has some of the fastest medical emergency response teams in the state, it still takes an average of 5-6 minutes for professional help to arrive.
Improved training and access to AEDs has the potential to save thousands of lives each year. Each successful training certification is valid for two years. CPR and AED training is ideal for churches, gyms, businesses, healthcare providers, babysitters and individuals.
Unless you take actions to retain your skills, you are likely to forget how and when to use an AED. So, to help you stay prepared, we provide you with access to a printable list of the basic steps for using an AED that you can keep at your desk, in your first aid kit, and more so you can review them at any time.
Katy First Aid & CPR also offers Renewal and Recertification courses that allow you to study online and take your skills session in-person so that you get the best training possible in the shortest amount of time. Contact us today about scheduling a class.
